                一、教學目標

                為配合97年度卓越計畫的專題演講以及本所強調之整合性實驗之精神，此課程特別作為專題演講之延伸，三位老師將分組帶同學閱讀與討論與演講專題相關之文獻，以便讓演講構成對特定議題之深入瞭解而非僅是三小時之經驗震盪。參與同學必須出席演講，積極閱讀指定文獻與討論、報告。

                  本課程上課時間訂為週一，但為了配合演講者的時間，所有的老師授課時間與專題演講皆為週六下午，講座時間為每次六小時整。請修課同學務必配合時間。

                 

                 四、評量方式

                出席演講40％，閱讀指定文獻與課堂報告30%，期末報告 30％。修課同學每週必須固定閱讀文獻，並報告內容。期末繳交研究論文式報告一篇（8000字以上）。

                1. "Collaboration and Control in Participatory Agriculture: A Second Life Based Approach."

                Speaker: Helmut Prendinger, National Institute of Informatics, Japan.

                Abstract:

                   In this talk, we describe a framework for synchronous collaborative visualization and remote control in the agricultural domain. The framework builds on "Second Life", a popular networked online 3D virtual world, where users are represented as avatars (graphical self-representations). Collaboration in Second Life takes the form of instant (real-time) two-way interaction among two or more avatars. The aim of our work is to facilitate real-time interaction for sharing knowledge and exchanging wisdom about environmental practices. In order to establish a realistic simulated context for communication in Second Life, virtual counterparts of real devices are created in the virtual world. Specifically, we represent field servers from NARC (National Agricultural Research Center) in Japan, which sense and monitor fields like rice paddies and vineyards. The Twin-World Mediator (TWM) is developed in order to replicate the behavior of real devices in virtual counterparts, and to facilitate seamless communication between real and virtual world. The TWM is an easy-to-use, extensible, and flexible communication framework. In the talk, we will demonstrate how the TWM can support control (tele-operation) of a field server located at Shinshu University in Japan.

                2. "eLife Project."

                3. "Caring for Street Children in Vietnam: An international effort to collaborate and support."

                Speaker: Michiko Yoshii, & Ichiro Nakagawa, Mie University, Japan

                Abstract:

                   In recent economic development, Vietnam has some aggravating social

                problems including street children. Currently, there are at least 7,000

                street children in Ho Chi Minh City, and the number is increasing. Since the

                Vietnamese government does not have enough budget nor know-how to resolve

                the problems, local NGOs have been trying to provide adequate care for them.

                   In this presentation, we will first describe 1) the conditions of

                street children in Ho Chi Minh City, 2) FFSC (Friends for Street Children),

                and 3) our team effort to network and collaborate with FFSC. We will then

                describe 4) a holistic-care technique, "Tapping Touch" and 5) the

                utilization of internet and digital technology as specific ways of

                supporting and collaborating.

                   FFSC is a Vietnamese local NGO which utilizes funds primarily from

                foreign countries and takes care of 1,500 children in 8 centers in HCMC. It

                not only contributes to reduce social problems in Vietnam, but it also

                provides an international exchange arena receiving many study tours,

                volunteers, or researchers.

                4. "Place Ballet- Digital narration of Kaoohsuing Yancheng District."

                Speaker: SunQuan (Inertia) Huang, Graduate Inst. of Interdisciplinary Art.

                Abstract:

                   This project will be an experimental and interdisciplinary research. Through digitalizing individual histories constituted by interviews, old pictures, images of dwelling and so on, it attempts to map out the vicissitude of Yancheng and reconstruct a story full of communities'encounters and common cultural movement, that is, "place ballet" in David Seamon's words.

                   Its findings as well as database including texts, pictures, recordings and so forth will be organized, digitalized, and uploaded using the Open Source program, and therefore, open to the public use and interpretation. Digitalized individual histories will make Yancheng's collective memory and histories."

                Abstract:

                   OpenPattern is developing a FPA-based router-board allowing the end-users and end-applications to use the OMRP (Openpattern Modular Routing Platform) as a fully-reconfigurable, power-saving platform for networking applications. This platform is fully OpenSource using the triple "O" model from Hardware (OpenPattern), through soft-core (OpenRISC) to user-space (OpenWRT BoardSupportPackage).

                4. "Imagination of Rural-Urban Exchange and Information Networking."

                Abstract:

                   The Chi-Mei Community College in Kaohsiung, Taiwan is founded in 2001 as a agricultural community college & village-based NGO. Its mission is to promote education in rural area, and facilitate rural-urban resources exchange and information interchange. For us, resources exchange and information networking are both building up organic connections and integrations.

                成功大學台灣文學系助理教授，倫敦大學Royal Holloway戲劇博士。就讀台北藝術大學戲劇研究所碩士班期間，也參與臨界點劇象錄，演出《瑪莉瑪蓮》、《水幽》等劇作。工作後，加入邱坤良主持的 「拱樂社劇本整理計畫」，因此獲得許多內台歌仔戲的田野知識。還有，因與傅裕惠、許雅紅一同策畫「女節」，開啟了與許多當代女性劇場工作者合作的機會。

                 

                • 第一週：將藉由對英國劇場創者的討論，一方面介紹當時的女性主義和性別理論，另一方面也藉此認識女性創作者的理念以及影響。接著，也將以「女節」為主軸，探看台灣女性的精彩作品。

                詩人、作詞人；現任嘉義縣文化處處長

                美國佛羅里達大學社會學碩士

                 

                鍾永豐來自高雄縣美濃，自青少年時期開始寫詩，接觸文學和音樂；大學畢業後，驚覺到客家農村文化日漸凋零，遂同妹妹秀梅和友人李允斐回到故鄉美濃，以「第七工作站」為基地參與客家鄉土文化扎根以及「反水庫運動」組織工作，並籌組「美濃愛鄉協進會」。94年赴美取得社會學碩士學位，回國後又陸續加入協助多個社區及環保運動。99年開始與客家歌手林生祥合作，籌寫及獨立發行「我等就來唱山歌」專輯。之後擔任高雄縣水利局長、台南縣政府機要秘書、行政院客委會和嘉義縣文化處長等公職；這期間並未中斷詩詞寫作，後續完成了「菊花夜行軍」、「臨暗」、「種樹」專輯，其中「臨暗」、「種樹」獲頒金曲獎最佳作詞人獎，作品多次至國外發表。最近與林生祥即將發行的「野生」專輯，於全國各地巡迴演出中。在嘉義縣擔任文化處長任內，05年開辦「北回歸線環境藝術行動」，邀藝術家進入農村社區、與村民互動創作，對台灣有關藝術進入社區的政策推動具相當影響力。
