一、教學目標: 

本課程提供得以分析真實世界的工具,亦即,在新自由主義主導的片面全球化與空間商品化(迪斯耐化)之下,除了需要重回70年代社會科學「空間轉向」的趨勢以來的理論所開啟的城市與空間研究視野外,更須透過這些理論的歷史構造過程與相關案例,方有能力分析台灣身為第三世界發展中國家的侷限(與機會)。本學期課程將專注介紹當代城市發展與藝術實踐的關係,針對台灣與全球目前發生的各種文創園區、美術館計畫、都市更新與藝術家的角色提出思考的必須:一方面,部分藝術家不自覺地參與都市發展中的「工具角色」,如替建商創造容積,替政府攏絡社區、以及推進了地方仕紳化的速度等等;另一方面,有的藝術家則進行反叛的、抗議的弱勢社區重建以及更激烈的文化行動抗議,或甚至「暫時停止」藝術。要思考藝術實踐的政治性,討論藝術正義(文以載道或者暗示其社會倫理要務),或是藝術教學上如何促進正義的思考,雖然也很重要,然本課程的重點乃是審視「社會正義」與「都市」的關係中藝術實踐所扮演的角色為何?在審美層次上所擁有的力量是否不僅只是資本寵愛的高級化妝術而已?這涉及了文化政策、都市政策與藝術實踐三者的結構關係,本課程透過閱讀文獻與討論案例,例如各地的文化創意園區、大型美術館/博物館的開發計畫、藝術村,藝術博覽會,以及建商透過贊助藝術家來換取容積率與租稅減免等等當代議題,協助參與同學建立一個可供辯證反思的基礎。

 

二、評量方式: 

平時課堂參與報告60%,期末報告40%。修課同學每週於課堂報告必讀讀本,並於報告前一天將摘要寄給全班同學。

期末則繳交(10000字)學術報告,題目自訂,但須與老師討論方向。
